Enrolling your child into a school is as much about your family joining a school community as it is about the education of your child.
To support you in determining if Kunyung Primary School is the best choice for you and your child, we recommend that you start by joining one of our school tours. Tours are conducted weekly by the school Principal and Student Leaders, where information about all aspects of the school is discussed, and you are also welcome to ask any questions you may have at this time.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will be provided with an information pack which contains our Parent Information Handbook, Enrolment Form, as well as a variety of other valuable documents pertaining to enrolment at Kunyung Primary School.
Please call our office and speak with our friendly staff to book a tour.
Should you select Kunyung as your school of choice, please return the following documents:
- Blue Enrolment Form
- Original Birth Certificate or Passport (for proof of age)
- School Entry Immunisation Status Certificate
Once we have received your enrolment, we facilitate a smooth transition process for your family.
A smooth transition from a pre-school setting to Prep is vital in establishing a sound start to school life, for both child and parents. Starting school can be an emotional time for children and our five week transition program is implemented to make the transition from home/pre-school to school a gentle and positive experience. Please expect an invitation early in term four, for you and your child to participate.
Our Prep teachers use information gathered from the pre-school setting, our comprehensive school transition program and teacher – parent discussions to ensure a smooth and happy start to school. Parents of prep students are also supported through our information sessions during transition.
On the final transition day, your child will meet their teacher and class mates for the following year. In the first week of the new school year, an appointment will be made for you and your child to meet with the teacher. Thereafter, your child will attend school for full days, except Wednesdays, until after the Labor Day holiday in March.
To welcome and support you to make connections across the Kunyung community, Parent Information Evenings, Family Picnics, Morning Teas and other events are organised.
Enrolments Other Than Prep
We understand that, for various reasons, students enrol into our school at different times throughout the year. To support a smooth transition and to assist us to make the best placement for your child, we appreciate receiving as much information as possible.
On your child’s first day at Kunyung, our staff will ensure that your child is introduced to new ‘friends’ who will do their best to make his or her first weeks at our school, a pleasurable experience.
As new parents to our school, if you agree, we will pass your contact details to the Class Contact Parent who will invite you to participate in class and school activities.
We are a friendly community at Kunyung and we look forward to welcoming you.
