Enrolments
Enrolling your child into a school is as much about your family joining a school community as it is about the education of your child.
To support you in determining if Kunyung Primary School is the best choice for you and your child, we recommend that you start by joining one of our school tours. Tours are conducted by the school Principal and Student Leaders, where information about all aspects of the school is discussed, and you are also welcome to ask any questions you may have at this time.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will be provided with an information pack which contains our Parent Information Handbook, Enrolment Application Form, as well as a variety of other valuable documents pertaining to enrolment at Kunyung Primary School.
To book a tour please use the link below. Please make sure it is no earlier than 1 year prior to anticipated commencement to ensure you receive the most up to date information.
The Department’s enrolment guidelines outlines the obligations on Victorian government schools in relation to placement of students and is referred to as the Placement Policy.

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.
Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
The Department provides guidance through the Enrolment: Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
Enrolment Forms
There is a difference between an application form and an enrolment form. The application form informs the school that you are wanting to enrol your child. An enrolment form will be provided after you receive an offer if your details meet the Department of Education’s requirements.

Transitions
Once we have received your enrolment, we facilitate a smooth transition process for your family.
Prep Enrolments
A smooth transition from a pre-school setting to Prep is vital in establishing a sound start to school life, for both child and parents. Starting school can be an emotional time for children and our five week transition program is implemented to make the transition from home/pre-school to school a gentle and positive experience. Please expect an invitation early in term four, for you and your child to participate.
Our Prep teachers use information gathered from the pre-school setting, our comprehensive school transition program and teacher – parent discussions to ensure a smooth and happy start to school. Parents of prep students are also supported through our information sessions during transition.
On the final transition day, your child will meet their teacher and class mates for the following year. In the first week of the new school year, an appointment will be made for you and your child to meet with the teacher. Thereafter, your child will attend school for full days, except Wednesdays, until after the Labor Day holiday in March.
To welcome and support you to make connections across the Kunyung community, Parent Information Evenings, Family Picnics, Morning Teas and other events are organised.
